Kathy was born in Sylacauga, Alabama the daughter of John Reid Mathis and Mary Reeves Mathis on January 20, 1950. Kathy married her High School sweetheart James (Jimmy) Dowell Williamson on August 26,1965. Kathy was a graduate of Vincent High School.
Kathy had three children. One Daughter and two Sons. Stacy Lynn Williamson on October 18, 1967, James Ronald (Ron) Williamson October 15, 1970, followed by Jason Reid Williamson on May 30, 1974. Kathy served her Family well and spent her career as the Chief Executive Officer/Owner of her household. She was a member of Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, Alabama.
Kathy had a passion for gardening, she loved her flowers, especially her Christmas Cactus’. Baking she loved. Always proud of a well done cake. Her last picture on her phone taken was that of a poundcake. She also loved relaxing at the Lake around her always positioned and lit Christmas tree. It is clear from viewing the slideshow that her first love was her Family and Friends more so than herself. She was happy living her life as a spectator and not the spectacle….especially as it relates to her grandchildren.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Jimmy Williamson; her daughter Stacy Williamson; her sons Ron Williamson and Jason Williamson; her two grandsons Miller Williamson and Mason Williamson; her only granddaughter Kathryn Reid Williamson; two step-grandchildren Anna Swarts and Jackson Swarts; her sisters Debbie Sweeney and Sandra Partridge. Kathy was predeceased by her Father John Mathis; her mother Mary Mathis; and her two brothers Reid Mathis and Randy Mathis.
There will be a visitation held for Kathy on Wednesday March 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel at Church of the Highlands, Grants Mill Campus, 4700 Highlands Way, Birmingham AL 35210. Funeral service will be at 1:00PM at the same location with graveside service to follow at Southern Heritage located at 475 Cahaba Valley Rd, Pelham AL 35124.
