Kittie Jones, age 98, of Birmingham, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Kittie was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She knew the meaning of hard work; she loved people and telling her life stories. Her hobbies were reading and working jigsaw puzzles.
Kittie is preceded in death by her husband, Leamon Jones and her parents, John Alvin Walden and Flossie Cash Walden. She is survived by her daughters, Winona Miller and Demetra Patrick (Jimmy); brother, James Walden; sisters, Charlene Haynes, Juanita Duckworth and Jean McGee; grandchildren, Donna Rushing, Tawana McMeen, Dena Netterville, Melisa Blanton, Keith Miller, Chris Patrick and Jennifer Church; and 15 great grandchildren.
The funeral service for Kittie will be at 1pm on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
