

A Boaz, AL native, Al graduated from Boaz High School and went on to complete his undergraduate studies at Auburn University. In 1975, he joined A.B. Chance Company as a sales representative and later served 27 years with Hubbell Power Systems, retiring as a regional sales manager. A member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Birmingham, Al’s favorite pastimes were spending time with his family, his appreciation of Auburn University, absorbing history information (especially related to WWII), and golfing.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, James Everett Stewart and Laddie Hollingsworth Stewart; and his father-in-law, Eugene Craft. Survivors include Al’s loving wife of 30 years, Elizabeth Craft Stewart; one daughter, Gabriella Eleina Stewart; one brother, James W. Stewart and his wife Charlene; nieces, Leanne Stewart Sumner, Kaci Stewart Bowen, and LaShann Spray; great-niece, Sadie Alexander; great-nephew, Gunnar Pollard; and mother-in-law, Ruth Pruett Craft.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham, and burial will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, AL. Pallbearers will be Robert “Bobby” Weathers, Larry Jarvis, Tom Wheeler, Courtney McCoy, Gary Davis, Mike Martin, and Neil Damron.
