Lena Elizabeth Giardina

A native of Birmingham, Lena was preceded in death by her parents, Rose Tamburello and Joe Cicio; her husband of 48 years, Vincent (Charlie) Glardina; and siblings, Marie Cicio, Josephine Bonino, Rose DiChiara, Philip Cicio and Joe Cicio, Jr.

Lena is survived by siblings, Ann Cicio, Frank Cicio (Cruce) and Anthony Cicio (Bonnie); children, Rosalind Ranelli (Frank), Paul Giardina, and Marie Bordenca (Charles); four grandchildren, John Ranelli, Stephen Ranelli (Traci), Dr. Mark Bordenca (Amy), and Christine Bordenca (Michael); nine great-grandchildren; as well as a very special niece, Jeanette Gagliano.

Lena enjoyed going dancing with her husband. She was happy being a homemaker, keeping her grandchildren, and especially loved cooking for family as well as friends. She will be remembered for her kind and gentle manner, and making people laugh at her way of seeing things.

Visitation will be at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Hoover, AIabama, on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., with Liturgical Service to follow. Burial will be private.
