

The Ensley High School graduate married Harold E. Key on April 21, 1953, launching her career as a devoted spouse and homemaker. She was a long-time member of New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, volunteering numerous hours in community outreach. In her leisure, she enjoyed sewing, reading, crocheting, knitting, and crafting and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends.
Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Harold; her parents, James Allen Willis and Mabel Harvell Willis; and one sister-in-law, Jean Willis.
Survivors include Lillian's three children, Michael Key (wife Carolyn), Cynthia Trainor (husband Bob), and David Key (wife Lynda); grandchildren, Phillip Key (wife Rachel), Leslie Dodson (husband Nate), Soniyyah Key, Christopher Key, Susan Brewer, Rebecca Key, Robert Trainor, Patrick Trainor (wife Helen), and Katherine Williams (husband John); 25 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jimmy Willis and Ronnie Willis (wife Kathleen).
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. A Service of Remembrance for Lillian Key will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home's chapel. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. Rev. Donny Acton will officiate.
