Linda Marie Higdon

Linda Marie Higdon, resident of Helena, AL, passed away on August 17, 2025. She was born May 18, 1948, in Baltimore, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Emily (Anderson) Baumgart, as well as her husband, John Charles Higdon Sr.

Linda met John while they both worked at Westinghouse in Baltimore. Married in 1967, they raised their two children in Maryland and then Kentucky before moving to Alabama. They lived 50 years together before his death in 2018. Linda was a homemaker throughout much of her life and enjoyed spending time with her family (including pets). In her free time, she enjoyed word puzzles, sitting outdoors, listening to music, and watching her favorite TV program, NCIS.

Linda has now found peace after a long battle with progressive dementia. She is survived by daughter Laurie H. Segers (son-in-law Steven Segers) of Alabaster, AL; son John C. Higdon Jr. of Denver, CO;

granddaughter, Annmarie K. Segers of Helena, AL; sister, Nancy A. Wilson and niece, Michelle L. Zimmerman, both of Shelbyville, KY; and Annabelle, her dog.

She will be laid to rest on August 26th, 2025, at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
