Linda Shirley Mixon

Linda was born in Birmingham, Alabama on November 2, 1954. She was a graduate of Berry High School, Class of 1974 and worked for over 20 years as a clerk for Jefferson County.

She shared a devoted marriage for 45 years with her high school sweetheart and beloved husband, Richard L. Mixon.

Linda was a faithful member of Bluff Park United Methodist Church where she and Richard loyally worked in the nursery each Sunday.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Clyde Shirley and her husband, Richard L. Mixon.

She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Joyce M. Shirley; her daughters, Rachel Mixon and Melinda Mixon; her cherished granddaughter, Anna Nichols; and her sisters, Sandra Shirley Wingate (Chuck) and Claudia Shirley Hamilton (Stan). Her family was the center of her world, and she loved them deeply.

A visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on April 30, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Linda’s memory to Bluff Park United Methodist Church or to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society.
