

Lucas was an inspiration to many with his charismatic smile and vast knowledge of cartoons. A master builder of LEGOS® and a chocolate milk connoisseur;
Lucas was an excellent student who loved reading and creating names for his prized collection of stuffed animals.
Lucas had the flair of an artist, often constructing glass fish portraits and preparing culinary meals for his friends and family. He will be missed dearly by all those who knew his sweet laugh.
Lucas is survived by his mother, Amy Lee Dunigan; father, Michael Dunigan; step-mother, Ashley Dunigan; and brothers, Riley Adam and Breck Murray Dunigan; maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Maryann Lee of Pelham, AL; paternal grandparents, David and Kathryn Dunigan of Nashville, TN; great-grandmother, Elizabeth Devine of Nashville, TN; great-grandmother, Loney Ward of Brandon, MS; and aunt, Christine Lee of Birmingham, AL; as well as Nicholas Whitehead of Brookwood, AL.
Lucas was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Neil Devine, William and Mary Dunigan, all of Nashville, TN; aunt, Nora Dunigan of Nashville, TN; and great-grandparents, Desmond Ward, Donzie and Nora Lee, all of Jackson, MS.
The family wishes to express love and gratitude to the faculty, parents and students of Rocky Ridge Elementary School, the City of Hoover, the doctors, nurses and administrative staff at Children’s of Alabama, especially Dr. Ana Xavier whose care and compassion was extraordinary.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, immediately followed by a Celebration of Lucas' Life at 3 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham. Private burial.
