Hi, it has been a long time since I saw Mrs. DeBardelaben, but she was a precious person in my life.  I was her work study student in the Child Development Center, Univ. of Al. in 1972 and 1973. After I got a Masters in Biology, my husband and I moved to Ohio State University, and now are back in Alabama.  I am currently a Biology instructor at Jefferson State. She was a special lady that always treated people with love and respect.  Wish I had gotten in touch with her before she passed, but I know she was loved by many!

I am so sorry to hear of Mae's passing.  She was a dear friend and co-worker at UAB.  When I first started to work there she was extremely encouraging and oh, how I loved her sense of humor.  She was a very special lady.

What a wonderful woman she was. I was very honored to be in one of her Early Childhood Classes at the U of A. Excellent teacher. She taught me so much about being a good, kind , caring teacher. I still use her helpful advice while caring for my grandchildren. Lovely lovely woman. My sincerest condolences to the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Mae's death.  She was a good friend for many years and I'll treasure the memories of the time we had together.  I admired her on many levels--her faith, her love of family, her delightful sense of humor, her work ethic and her loyalty are just a few. Mae was one in a million!  I treasure all the great times I had with her and her wonderful family when I was at UA.  She always called me her surrogate son!  That was very special!
