

On October 20, 1957, Margaret accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord. She was baptized on November 3 of that year.
Margaret graduated academically in the upper 10 percent of her senior class of 400 students at Eastern High School. Her extra-curricular activities included Beta Club, Student Council, and Good News Club.
Margaret's professional career included secretarial positions for Kentucky Baptist Convention, Georgia Baptist Convention, and Montclair Surgical Associates, with years between being a homemaker. As a pastor's wife, she passionately supported her husband's church ministries while she selflessly served others.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Burt Davis, to whom she was married on August 31, 1963; her parents, Gordon Smith Sapp and Ella V. Sapp; brother, Gordon Kenneth Sapp (wife, Barbara Sapp); mother-in-law, Mamie Rae Davis; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ann Davis.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ann Etheridge (husband, Paul Etheridge); grandchildren, Robert Edward Etheridge (wife, Kayla Etheridge), Rachel Ann Sturgill (husband, Chris Sturgill), and Reagan Elise Etheridge; great-grandchildren, Alice Iris Etheridge, Ezra Kai Sturgill, and Marlie Ann Sturgill; and one brother, Duane Smith Sapp (wife, Maria Sapp).
The family will greet friends on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama from 10-11 a.m., followed by A Service of Remembrance for Margaret at 11 a.m. at the Ridout's Southern Heritage. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. Brother Bo Brown will officiate.
