Margaret was a native of Birmingham, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, "the love of her life" Thomas Hazen, Jr.; her parents, Edgar and Florence Black; her brother, Joseph Black; and her sisters, Eula Layton and Mamie Weathers.
Survivors include Margaret's seven children, Rhonda Hazen, Marguerite Hazen, Nancy Reed (Jesse), Tomi Stronge (Frank), Tom Hazen III, Rebeccah Hazen, and Peggy Spain. Margaret is also survived by her two brothers, Eugene P. Black and John M. Black; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Margaret was greatly loved by her family and many friends.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until the 1 p.m. Memorial Service on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL. The inurnment will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
