

Margaret Louise Northrup of Hoover passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6th after living a long and full life. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Albert Lacey Northrup Jr., her parents Will and Willie Lovelace and ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by her Sister-in-law Margaret C. Northrup and her nephews Steve Northrup (Sheree), Gary Northrup, Mike Northrup (Pam), Kenneth Northrup and Jerry Lovelace (Nancy) plus great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews. Margaret and her husband Al were pioneers in the Hoover community where they built a home in Hoover in 1964 before the city was formally established in 1967. Margaret and Al enjoyed the Hoover area and its many classic icons like Green Valley Drugs, The Western Super Market and Golden Rule BBQ. Hoover was home for Margaret and therefore she served faithfully many years in the Hoover Service Club. Margaret also loved flowers and gardening and was supportive of Aldridge Gardens when it opened in Hoover. Margaret loved her home and her community and she had very special neighbors she considered as family who watched out for her and cared for her after her husband passed away.
The family extends special thanks to Margaret’s neighbors, the many care givers at Chateau Vestavia and at Golden Living Riverchase and to Jackie Tate a very special friend and care giver for Margaret. Visitation will be at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham, AL from 10:30am until 11am on Saturday January 10th with funeral services following at 11am. Memorials may be made to Aldridge Gardens 3530 Lorna Road, Hoover, AL 35216.
