Marianna McCaleb Ellis

Marianna McCaleb Ellis was born on April 20, 1940, in Bankston, Alabama to Truman Dupree McCaleb and Anna Lee McCaleb. She received her formal education at Berry High School in Berry, Alabama and was crowned Miss Berry 1956. Marianna was last employed by Pearson VUE as a test monitor before retiring.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, attending church, traveling and cooking. She was a proud member of the Forestdale Lions Club, women’s Auxiliary club and a faithful member of the Homewood Church of Christ.

Marianna passed away on November 21, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Truman Dupree McCaleb and Anna Lee McCaleb; her husband, Robert Harris Ellis; and her eldest son, Michael Barry Ellis.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Kenneth Duane Ellis and Mark Alan Ellis (Lori); her grandchildren, Kayla Lee Lindsey (Morgan), Brittan Elizabeth Dendy (Blake), and Mason Alexander Ellis; her sisters, Linda Dupree Harbin (Ted) and Janice Renee McCaleb; and seven great-grandchildren (three great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons).

Visitation will be held at Cleveland Church of Christ on Saturday, November 29th at 11:30 a.m., with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Cleveland Church of Christ Cemetery.
