

Mark was a 1982 graduate of Berry High School and a gifted athlete playing baseball, basketball, and football. He received a baseball scholarship to Jefferson State Community College and then attended the University of Alabama. He was a Realtor with Arc Realty.
Mark is survived by his wife, Deanna Pierce Carroll; beloved dog, Forrest; two daughters, Lillian Brooke Carroll and Cathryn Deanna "DeDe" Shipp; son-in-law, Garrett Shipp; mother, Brenda Carnes Kunze, and step-father, James P. Kunze; aunt and uncle, Ken and Mary Carolyn Sullivan; uncle, Jimmie T. Carnes; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Pierce; sisters-in-law, Donna Crittenden, Debbie Kreager, and Diana Daniel; step-siblings, Jennifer Kunze Maddox, and Chris and Scott Kunze; and a large extended family.
Mark was dearly loved by his friends and family and that love was returned in great measure. He was a very special and involved uncle to Carlee and Lani Hoggle and Katelyn Kreager. He loved spending time and hunting at “Private Acres,” land given to the family by his late grandparents, T.A. and Lillian Carnes of Winfield, Alabama. Mark will be deeply missed for his sense of humor, willingness to help others, and his love for his family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 10-11:30 a.m. in the chapel at Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover, Alabama with the memorial service immediately following.
