Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Edith Elam; and sisters, Lola Short, Marilyn Munos, and Donna Elmore.
She is survived by her sons, Michael D. Young and Geoffrey K. L. (Jan) Young; daughters, Sheryl Y. (Bill) Simpson, Cynthia Y. (Wayne) Ruggles, and Nona R. (Lynn) Thomas, and their father, Don B. Young; brothers, Alfred Elam and Richard Elam; Sister, Wanda Taylor; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm Monday, October 16. A celebration of Martha’s Life will be at 11am Tuesday at New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
