Mary Sue Alexander Bright, 86, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, in Birmingham, Alabama. Mary Sue was born in 1937 in Empire, Alabama to Irene Rhodes. She graduated valedictorian from Dora High School. Mary Sue was a devoted Christian and was a proud member of Bluff Park Baptist Church for over thirty years. Mary Sue married Barry Randall (Randy) Bright in 2018 and became a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Mary Sue is preceded in death by her mother, Irene; two believed husbands, Thomas Beverly Walker, Sr. and George B. Alexander. She is survived by her beloved husband, Randy; her son, Thomas Beverly Walker, Jr.; daughter, Mary Ann Agens; step-daughter, Angela Bright Tatum; grandson, Christopher Thomas Walker, and granddaughter, Caroline Walker Hackney; brother-in-law, Glen Bright; and many other loving family members and close friends.
Visitation will be held at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral home on Thursday, February 8 at 10:00 am with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Walker Memory Gardens in Jasper, Alabama at 2:00 pm.
