Mary Jo Carter

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Maxwell Byron Carter; her father, Joe Douglas Kimbro; and her mother, Mae Ella Kimbro. She is survived by her sister, Rowena Ward; two sons, Maxwell Carter (Krista) and Tracy Carter (Britta); and grandchildren, Alexandria Carter Nichols (Ruben Nichols), and Justin, Jackson, and Tyler Carter.​

Visitation will be at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Wed., Aug. 13, 2025 from 10-11 a.m. followed by A Celebration of Mary Jo's Life at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage. Interment, Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo.​

2 Corinthians 5:1, 2, 4 NKJV​

For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven. For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.
