A native of Kingsport, TN, Mary Lynn was a 1993 alumna of The University of Alabama where she met her husband of 26 years, Jason, while in the Million Dollar Band. She then earned her graduate degree from Samford University after which she dedicated 29 years of service to Martin Advertising/Martin Retail Group in Birmingham as an advertising professional.
Mary Lynn was a light in this world that cannot be forgotten. She was extremely talented at everything she pursued. She was an avid supporter of the arts, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and any sport or activity that her nephews and nieces participated in. She actively participated in missions and outreach ministries at Hunter Street Baptist Church where she considered it her privilege to serve the Lord and teach her first-grade class about Jesus. She showed us all God’s love through her kindness, generosity, and care. Mary Lynn made everything special and fun, from birthdays to holidays and every day in between. She was always thinking of and doing for others. She was a fantastic and devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
In the last several years, she showed us just how much tenacity, courage, strength, and faith she had as she fought tirelessly against multiple cancer diagnoses. Her legacy is so much more than her fight, but her positivity and motivation during the most trying of times will continue to inspire us all.
She is survived by her husband, Jason Gray, mother, Mrs. Wanda Holliman, brother, Andy Holliman (Astrid), mother-in-law, Pat Gray, brother-in-law, Tim Tindle (Wanda), nephews Elijah, Jed, and Noah Holliman, nieces Keilah Holliman and Lindsey Johnston (Josh), and lifelong friends Mike, Amy, and Matthew Moore. A host of relatives, friends, church family, and colleagues will remember her fondly and carry her onward in our hearts forever.
She is preceded in death by her father, Harry Holliman, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Grady Hughes and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Holliman, father-in-law, Garland Gray, and sister-in-law, Denise Gray Tindle.
A Memorial Service will be held at Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover, Alabama on Tuesday, July 15 with visitation at 10:00 AM and service at 11:00 AM.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Brian Adler and his team at Alabama Oncology at Brookwood Medical Center, friends and family of Hunter Street Baptist Church, and her family at Martin Advertising/Martin Retail Group.
