Dear Bill and Linda, 

I just found out from our cousin, Marcia, on January 1 about your loss.  There are no words to express our sadness at this time.  What wonderful memories I have of Aunt Mary Jane and Uncle Bill. They were such special people in my life growing up. I remember the fun times I had visiting in your home.  Your mother was always such a kind and gentle soul.  I enjoyed staying in touch with her until these past couple of years.  She must have moved out of her apartment and that's when I lost contact with her.  However, I have continued to think about her and wondered how she was doing.  I am so glad Marcia let me know about her passing.  She had a long and full life and will greatly be missed.  I have let my mother know and Jo and Ann.  They, as well as I send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to you and your families  during this difficult time. Linda and Bill, I just learned from our cousin Marcia about your mama's death.  Living into one's 90s and in relatively good health a good part of the time is usually quite a blessing for someone and their children; however, it is a loss all the same.  I want you to know I'm sorry for your loss. Aunt Mary Jane was one of my favorite people. Talking with her on the phone always made me happy, very glad she was my aunt.  She told me histories and marvelous stories about my daddy, our grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, events that I would never have known about otherwise.  I always had more questions for her and asked her to repeat certain ones again and again. Thanks to Aunt Mary Jane, I have this treasure chest of ancestors and relatives, fully developed and wonderfully described people--family.  I felt close to my daddy when we talked. She kept me well-informed about you, Bill and Linda, and your children and grandchildren. I'm grateful for that and wish we lived closer. I have a few good childhood memories, but I'd like to know you better and hang out.  She loved you very much and was very proud of you.  She often talked with much love of your sweet and charming father.  I'm grateful to have several more recent wonderful memories of your parents.  They seemed almost magical to me but were too nice and funny to not be real.  I also have photographs which you all may not have.  I will get some together to send if you like.
