Born in Birmingham, Alabama, on March 26, 1944, Michael Dennis Allen lived a life marked by generosity, hard work, and an unwavering love for his family and friends. He never met a stranger and was the kind of man who would gladly give anyone the shirt off his back. His warm smile, quick wit, and compassionate heart touched countless lives, and he made everyone around him feel welcome and valued.
Above all else, he loved his family. He was a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and a loyal friend whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. The memories he created, the lessons he shared, and the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Michael Dennis Allen is survived by his daughters, Katie Allen Pickett and Leigh Ann Allen; his former wife, Sylvia Allen, mother of Katie and Leigh Ann; his son-in-law, Heath Pickett; and his cherished grandchildren, Ryan Layne Allen, Owen Liam Allen, Talyn Pickett, Milah Giselle Rhine, Kyleigh Jayde Billingsley, and Aviana Faith Billingsley. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure the time they shared with him.
Though our hearts are broken by his sudden passing, we find comfort in knowing that the love he gave, the kindness he showed, and the legacy he leaves behind will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered every day.
A Celebration of Life honoring Michael Dennis Allen will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Calera Elks Lodge. Family and friends are warmly invited to join us as we gather to celebrate his life, share memories, and honor the incredible man who meant so much to so many. In lieu of mourning, we hope you’ll come ready to tell stories, laugh, and remember Michael the way he would have wanted—with love, friendship, and gratitude for a life well lived.
