

Miriam Maier Bearden, 60, died peacefully Monday, March 11,2024 surrounded by her family. She was born August 5,1963 in an Army hospital in Heidelberg, Germany to Gene and Camille Maier. After graduating valedictorian from Callaway High School in Jackson, Mississippi, Miriam attended Mississippi State University, graduating with degrees in Accounting and Business Administration.
Miriam was a member of Christ United Methodist Church while growing up in Jackson where she was the pianist for the Immanuel Singers. Miriam made lifelong friends as a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority at Mississippi State. She was also an avid Mississippi State sports fan. She was a member of Helena United Methodist Church where she played handbells and served on the finance committee. She was a dedicated employee of SPM, Southeastern Property Management, for 30 years.
Miriam is survived by her husband of 33 years, Michael Bearden, and two daughters, Michelle Elizabeth Bearden and Madison Elise Bearden. She leaves behind her mother, Camille Reed Maier, her two sisters, Maria (Craig) Sulser and Missy Maier Russell. She also leaves behind her brothers and sisters-in-law, Peggy (John) Golden, Joy (Johnny) Wheless, Edgar (Linda) Bearden, Candy (Leon) Ryan and Tom (Debbie) Bearden, her cousins Leigh Anne (Craig) Bertelsen, Anne (John) Sill, Susan (Jay) Hooten, and Craft (Jennifer) Maier. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham, AL on Saturday, March 16th at 2:00 PM with a funeral service beginning at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her brothers-in-law Edgar Bearden, Tom Bearden and Craig Sulser, nephews Tanner Sulser, Tristan Sulser and Johnny Wheless.
