

Mitchell Hue Taylor, beloved husband, father, PawPaw, son, uncle, and friend, of Hoover, Alabama passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the age of 79. Born September 2, 1941 in Haleyville, Alabama to Stonewall and Vista Taylor and was the youngest of five siblings.
Mitchell retired in 2004 from Dixie Electrical, where he mentored many men who meant so much to him. He was a member of Grace Bible Church and served as Chairman of Deacons for more than 20 years.
He looked forward to playing cards, dominoes, and board games with family every Friday. He loved RV camping, fishing, motorcycle riding, gardening, dancing, Alabama football, and everything about old cars. Most of all, he loved traveling with his wife and being with his family.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Imogene Taylor, Willodean Hudson, and Louise Hamby; and one brother, Theron Taylor.
Survivors include Mitchell's loving wife of over 46 years, Gail Cox Taylor, and two children, Darlene Taylor Sellers (Jeff) and Angie Pretnar Sullivan (Mike). He had four grandchildren whom he loved and adored: Caleb Sellers, Brooks Pretnar, Jacob Sellers, and Bella Pretnar. Also, one great-grandson, Aston Pretnar, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mitchell loved life, was humble, was so positive, never complained, and never had an unkind word about anyone. He was loved by all. His suffering has ended and he is with our loving Heavenly Father and is rejoicing with so many who have gone before him.
Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, immediately followed by A Celebration of Mitchell's Life at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home's chapel. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
