Nadim was born on October 7, 1949, to George Nasir Shunnarah and Badia Salameh Totah. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith touched countless lives.
On February 18, 1973, Nadim married the love of his life, Cleopatra "Cleo" Abraham Kassees Shunnarah. Together they shared 46 wonderful years of marriage until Cleo's passing in 2019. Their life together was built on love, family, faith, and a passion for serving others.
A graduate of high school who also completed two years of business college, Nadim dedicated much of his career to the restaurant industry. He was the proud owner and operator of The Pita Stop, where he became well known not only for his food but for his warm smile, generous spirit, and genuine hospitality toward every customer who walked through the door.
A faithful member of St. George Melkite Greek Catholic Church, Nadim was deeply committed to his faith and his Palestinian heritage. He was an active member of the American Federation of Ramallah, Palestine, the Ramallah Club of Birmingham, and proudly served as President of the Ramallah Club of Birmingham, helping preserve the traditions and culture that meant so much to him.
Nadim is survived by his beloved son, Nadim George Shunnarah Jr., and his loving sisters, Rose Cook and Fadwa Shunnarah, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cleopatra "Cleo" Shunnarah; his parents, George Nasir Shunnarah and Badia Shunnarah; his sister, Nuha Shunnarah; and his brothers, Nabeel Shunnarah, Samir Shunnarah, and Hanna Shunnarah.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find peace in knowing that Nadim has been reunited with his beloved Cleo and is now with the angels, resting safely in God's loving embrace. His legacy of faith, compassion, generosity, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew and loved him.
May his memory be eternal.
