Nancy Ruth Jordan Bachofer, 77, of Birmingham, AL, was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 7, 2019. She was born on November 5, 1941 in Birmingham to Russell James Jordan and Alma Beech Jordan. Nancy accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at age 8 at Central Park Baptist Church with Reverend John Bob Riddle as her pastor. She was graduated from Fairfield High School in Birmingham, AL in 1961. Nancy had a lifelong career in retail, including managing Casual Corner, The Side Door at Parisians, and was most recently a stylist at The Clothes Tree by Deborah, for 18 years, where she was made a member of their family. Nancy was truly a woman of faith and passionate about her home church, Briarwood Presbyterian Church PCA. She was a member of the Deeper Life Sunday School class. She had a beautiful solo voice and was a member of the choir at Briarwood. At one point in time, Nancy had her own music ministry. Her favorite Bible verse was Philippians 4:6-7 "Be anxious about nothing, but with prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God and the peace of God that passes all understanding will be yours in Christ Jesus." Nancy was also a member of "Caldwell Cuties", her neighborhood girls' group. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing with her husband Ed. Nancy will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and voice, her laughter, and her eternal love for her family.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; her brother Russell Wayne Jordan; and her previous spouse Lawrence Brown Sheffield Jr. Nancy is survived by her husband Dr. Edward V. Bachofer; the father of her children Tully Richmond Burch Jr.; her children Tully Richmond "Rick" Burch III (Riza) and Clem Douglas Burch (Angela); her grandchildren Nicholas Jordan Burch (Mallory) and Amanda Burch Neece (Derek); and her great-granddaughter Demi Lee Neece.

I was blessed to know Nancy from the Clothes Tree. She always had a beautiful smile and was just precious to know. I just want her family to know my love and prayers go to you. But as a Christian we know that we are going to see her again one day. She will have no more pain and in her new body. Praise the Lord.

Being with Nancy and her precious husband Ed always meant laughter, often to the point of tears, and pure joy! We shared many memories of meals after church and a special one of a cable car ride all over Salt Lake City on our church group trip to the National Parks, where the 4 of us laughed at ourselves late at night acting like kids. She brought out the best in everyone she touched, and we will miss her terribly until we join her around The Throne where she now worships with that beautiful voice in fullness of joy! Our prayers are with Ed and all her family for God to shed His light of loving kindness where Nancyโ€™s presence is missed for now. Blessings, Dear Friend! We love you...

She Loved... this is the best way for me to describe Nancy and all things she loved you can see it in her eyes and definitely in her Smile her first love main love is God. The song I Can Only Imagine the movie touched her life and she used it to touch others lives. She definitely had her life in order God family friends and those she didn't even know. She definitely was a prayer Warrior and his Soldier for God.
Loved by so many... to know Nancy is to love her. Also to know Nancy is to know God that's just the way she lived her life till the very end
I was blessed around 10 years ago to sit with her mother Ruth and these last final days with her and I can say every day if you want listen to The Gospel through music praise and worship you were hearing it through people reading the Bible or just simply talking about Nancy.
Nancy is in heaven cuz she chose and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior to live eternally if you have not made this decision please do I promise you Nancy's they're saying this is real God is the God of all days from the beginning when she first believed to now and forever she would want that for you just as I do and she would want you to come to be with her in heaven one day my number is 427 8808 I would love to share that same gospel with you so do you can't see notes again cuz if not and you do not accept Christ as your savior then this is the rest of your time with her yeah if you are a believer in Jesus Christ and have accepted him you can go and leave eternity forever and say Nancy as well and that would be a testimony to who in her relationship you are to her.. thank you Ed and Nancy for allowing me to be part of these last weeks into getting to know more of your family and loving them my prayers are with each and everyone of you because you know y'all are family to me I've grown to really love y'all and it's Angela was say I know y'all love me too thank you God for healing Nancy bringing her home..
