Nelda Jean (Jeannie) Jeffery, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2016. She was born and raised in Albertville, Alabama, and was married to J.R. Jeffery, Jr. for 61 years. She was a wonderful mother, a devoted spouse, and a dedicated Christian throughout her life.
Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Mathis; husband, J.R. Jeffery, Jr; son, Phillip E. Jeffery; brothers, Leonard Mathis, Aubrey Mathis, and Jimmy Mathis (Nell); and her grandson, Michael Jeffery.
Jeannie is survived by her son, Stan Jeffery (Margo); brother, Bobby Mathis (Lucille); grandchildren, Tanya Durant (Tripp), Chris Jeffery, Russell Jeffery, and Jason Jeffery; and great-grandchildren, Steven Jeffery, Summer Jeffery, and Jackson Durant.
Visitation will be at Rush Funeral Home Wildwood Chapel, 220 Wildwood Ave SE, Cleveland, TN, on Monday, July 18, 2016 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with a funeral service immediately following.
