Nelda Rae Walker Hamilton

Nelda Rae Walker Hamilton of 701 Riverchase Parkway West in Hoover, Alabama, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015. She was born in Holiday, Texas on June 17, 1933 to Archie Walker and Callie Hayden Walker.

Nelda Rae graduated from Holiday High School and earned the Bachelor of Science Degree at Boise State University. She married Ted S. Hamilton on April 2, 1953.

She was self-employed for many years as a real estate appraiser. She was a member of the Riverchase Women's Club and loved to read and travel.

In addition to her parents, Nelda Rae was predeceased by her son-in-law, David Benner. Survivors include three children, Lori Susan (Tom) Marino, Cary Lynn (Anna) Hamilton, and Kelly Ann Benner; grandchildren, David (Yakati) Hamilton, Michael (Leslie) Hamilton, Hanna Hamilton, Christopher (Michelle Killingsworth) Penski, and Steven (Tina) Penski; and one sister, Mary Lou McCleery.

Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, immediately followed by the 7 p.m. Memorial Celebration of Nelda Rae's Life in the funeral home's chapel.
