Nettie Jim Galloway Hartin moved to Heaven on June 24, 2022, at her home in Pelham, AL. Born October 18, 1946 in Tarentum, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her parents Coye and Clifton Colbert Galloway, her devoted husband of 47 years James Arthur Hartin and her sister Sara Galloway Mills. Nettie professed her faith in Jesus Christ at a young age and has served Him faithfully through serving others since that time.
Nettie graduated from Pike County High School and Enterprise Community College where she received her associates degree. She was a faithful member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church where she served in the preschool ministry for 33 years and enjoyed the Christian fellowship in the Bell/Pittman Sunday school class. Always a positive spirit even in sickness, she will be remembered for her ability to know anyone’s name, bring a smile to their face and joy to their hearts with her thoughtful cards and letters she wrote weekly.
Nettie was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Clifton James Hartin (Cindy Griffin) of Pelham, Christopher George Hartin (Nancy Burton) of Vestavia Hills, Craig Rowe Hartin (Danielle Lee) of Marietta, GA; her grandchildren Jacob Daniel Hartin, Ashton James Hartin, Maria Ann Hartin, Luke Edward Hartin, Coleman Christopher Hartin, Mackenzie George Hartin and Brice Burton Hartin.
A funeral service in celebration of Nettie’s life will be held Tuesday, June 28 at 11:00 am at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, with visitation at 10:00 am at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Dr. Danny Wood, former pastor of Shades Mountain Baptist officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Shades Mountain Baptist Church Preschool Ministry.
