I think I first met Nick about 30 years ago at a World of Concrete. He stopped by our booth and chatted at length with my father about concrete mix designs. Although I probably didn't see him again for about 10 years, we talked on the phone occasionally. Nick always struck me as a guy who was interested in improving himself and the concrete that Thomas Concrete produced. Later, after I joined the NRMCA RES committee, I saw Nick participating in the committee activities and contributing his knowledge and experience for the betterment of the industry.

Nick was a great guy. Our industry is better off for having him involved and worse off for him having left us. My condolences to his family. I hope they realize how much he was liked and appreciated.
