Odis Paul Bishop, 78, born in Jasper, Alabama, having spent much of his life in south Florida, passed away on May 6th, 2025. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army, serving his country honorably during the Vietnam conflict. He subsequently went on to become a telephony technician for AT&T and their subsidiaries. After 32 years, he became a contractor, serving our country at numerous U.S. Embassies across the world. He was always a man willing to help others in need. Paul was also a great husband, father, and friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Bishop McCord, son-in-law, Shannon McCord, their two sons, his grandchildren Brennen Cross McCord, Nicholas Paul McCord, his youngest son Josh Michael Bishop, his two sisters, Susan Lott (Shadix), Julia Bishop, and brother-in-law Alan Kiczula. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years Karen Lynn Bishop (nee Kiczula) (d. 2023), and son Aaron Paul Bishop (d. 2012). A graveside service for Paul will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 12:30 PM at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, AL 35115.
