Osborn "Ozzie" Michael Deason

December 31, 2017April 26, 2021

Osborn “Ozzie” Michael Deason, age 3, was forever healed on April 26, 2021.

Ozzie was born on December 31, 2017, in Birmingham, Alabama, giving Prime and Leah the incredible honor and blessing of being his parents. Even though his time on earth was short, Ozzie made an eternal impact and touched the lives of so many people around the world. He was loved by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nurses, therapists, doctors, and friends. Ozzie’s life was filled with suffering from a rare genetic disease and epilepsy, but despite it all, his joy would always shine through in everything he did. His smile and sweet sounds would light up a room, and to know him was to understand pure, innocent love. Ozzie adored music, going for walks in his stroller, playing with his switch toys, participating in the Epilepsy Foundation Kids Crew, and most of all snuggling with his Mama and Daddy. He also had a very special bond with his cat, Monkey, and loved to be outside lounging in his very own “Ozzie’s Place” from Make-A-Wish Alabama. His life served a purpose greater than words can explain. He will be greatly missed by his parents and all of the lives he touched, but they rejoice knowing his suffering is over, and he is finally at peace in Jesus’ arms. Until we hold you again in Heaven, keep shining Ozzie. You forever changed the world.

Funeral services will be held at Church of the Highlands, Grants Mill Campus on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 12:00 pm with a private family burial following at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama.

It was my great honor to pray for sweet Ozzie, and I will miss reading the always uplifting posts from his mother. Praying for the peace that only comes from our Savior for both of these very devoted, battle-weary parents. As an elderly woman myself, I figure that I will get to see Ozzie playing in heaven before they do, but I promise not to take that great honor lightly!
