

September 19, 2013. She was born on December 30, 1928 in Pyote, Texas, to Joel and Opal Hickey. She married her husband, Charles Herrin, in May of 1954, and they were happily married for 59 years. She had a great love of God and family.
Patricia worked in healthcare at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Brookwood Hospital and Brookwood Orthopedics in Birmingham for more than 30 years. She and her husband were Charter Members of St. Peter’s Catholic Church where they were very active. Patricia was active in a number of clubs and volunteered for many organizations, which included the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, the Birmingham Museum of Art and the Hoover Library. She and her husband were world travelers to more than 70 countries with family and friends. They also traveled together as Ambassadors of the Friendship Force of Birmingham.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Opal Hickey, her sister, Theresa Brown and her brother, Charles Hickey.
In addition to her husband, Charles, she is survived by her sons: Chris Herrin (Sandra), Blair Herrin, Brian Herrin (Jennifer), and Craig Herrin (Sherry), and daughter, Patricia Tauber (Kevin). Her grandchildren: Wendy Davis (J.D.), Misty Doroh (Mark), Blake Herrin, Holly Herrin, Chad Herrin, Star Herrin, Stone Herrin, and Jameson Herrin. Her great-grandsons: Jackson and Tristan Davis and Noah Doroh. Her sisters: Coleen Adair and Cathy Kinslow (Larry). Her legacy of life and love will be remembered and cherished forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2013 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 2061 Patton Chapel Road, Hoover, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Benedictine Sisters, 916 Convent Road NE, Cullman, AL 35055.
