Pat is survived by her sister, Sue Tounger (Al), Los Gatos, CA; children, Marsha McCarty (Buford) and John Simpson, both of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Taylor Glaze (Katie) of Birmingham and Kendall Glaze of Durham, NC; great-grandchildren, Patton and Norah Glaze of Birmingham; nephews, George Simpson (Becky) of Birmingham, Jim Simpson (Kate) of Winchester, VA, and Alex Tounger (Sherilynn) of Washington, D.C.; and nieces, Sheri Willson (Kevin) of Tulsa, OK and Julie Wiser (Bill) of Carrollton, TX.
Pat graduated from Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC and was a member of South Highland Presbyterian Church in Birmingham for many years. She was a devoted housewife and mother, and served as a volunteer at her church, UAB, and Baptist Montclair throughout her life.
The memorial service was at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.
The family requests donations be made to Affinity Hospice, Optum Hospice, or Alzheimer’s Association Alabama Chapter.
