She is affectionately known as “Miss Piggi” by her husband, family, and friends. Peggy gave unconditional love, unswerving support, and guidance, and she will be sorely missed by all of the lives she touched.
Survivors include Peggy's spouse, Bob J. Whitley; four children, Shiree Cooper, Renee Stein, Eddie Dobbs, and Mariee “Fluffy” Dobbs; grandchildren, Casey Stein, Cheyenne Dobbs, and Dakota Dobbs; great-grandchildren, Alexis Stein, Jaden Stein, Brooklyn Dobbs, and Sofia Dobbs; Peggy's mother, Freeda Nelson; sister, Pat Wood; brothers, Roger Ledbetter and Steve Nelson; and Bob's 19 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour before the 11 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. Burial, Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
