

Phillip was born January 8, 1984 to Phillip Edwin Cline, Sr. and Dianne Haynes Cline in Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from Hoover High School in 2002 and the University of Alabama with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting in 2007. He went on to obtain his first Masters Degree in Secondary Education in 2014 from the University of Montevallo. Phillip was an avid Crimson Tide, LA Dodgers, and UNC basketball fan. Phillip played soccer and basketball at age 5. He also helped his Dad coach Upward basketball and played freshman football at Hoover High School. He was a dedicated Math teacher who loved his students and making an impact in their lives. He had just completed his 1st week of teaching at Susan Moore High School in Blount County when he died. He assisted with Varsity Girl's basketball at Talladega High School & did Stats for Coach Bates at Center Point High school. He was a lifelong learner and at the time of his death he was working on his EdS degree in Instructional Technology at The University of Montevallo. Phillip enjoyed vacationing in The Great Smoky Mountains of Gatlinburg, Tennessee with his family. He was a devoted son, grandson, brother, and uncle. Most importantly, Phillip knew and loved Jesus Christ. Phillip was saved & baptized at the age of 7. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster, Alabama.
Phillip is preceded in death by his father, Phillip Edwin Cline, Sr. and grandfather, John David Cline.
He is survived by his mother, Dianne Haynes Cline; brother, Christopher (Kimberly) Cline; grandparents, Clyde and Betty Sewell Haynes and Glenda Rietta Cline; aunts and uncles, Jan Sparks(Roddie), Michael Cline(Sharon), and Yvonne (Lowe) Bibby; cousins, Ruth Bibby and Haydn (Jenna) Bibby; and nephews, Kellen Cline and Owen and Evan Harrison.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 21st, 2021, from 2pm until 4pm, at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Birmingham, Alabama.
