The Birmingham, Alabama native was an Odenville High School graduate employed as a security system technician with Vector Security. In his leisure, he enjoyed Auburn football, cooking, and golfing.
Phillip was preceded in death by his mother, Edith Tyler; brother, Tommy Cater; and sister, Cathy Tyler. He is survived by his two daughters, Morgan Estes Durrett (Adam) and Maddie Estes; the mother of his children, Dawn Estes; brothers and sisters, Neal Cater, Bill Cater (Vicky), Karen Carlee, Jeff Tyler (Betty), Terri Ruck (Tim), Rhonda Grounds, and Raye Bagwell (Danny); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 1-2 p.m., followed by A Service of Celebration for Phillip's Life at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage.
