Phyllis “Dottie” Russo Neaves, age 72 of Birmingham, AL, beloved mother, teacher, and friend passed away on June 6th, 2011. Always a caring heart and a loving mother. Graduate of John Carroll High School ’56. She will be forever missed by the lives she touched. She is survived by her mother Rose Salvagio Hughes, daughter Rose Neaves, sons Gerald (Christie) Neaves, David Neaves, and Grandson Nicholas Neaves. Teaching children was her passion where she began her career in 1958 at St. Anthony’s followed by Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Joseph, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Paul’s, and then St. Mary’s in 2006.
A visitation is scheduled at 10-11 am followed immediately by the funeral service at 11 am at Saint Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church on Thursday, June 9th. Graveside service will be held at Southern Heritage cemetery following the funeral service.
