Phyllis J. Swanson

Phyllis Jean Swanson was born October 17, 1936, to John Martin and Kathrine Williams in Hillsboro, OH. Phyllis graduated from Lynchburg High School in 1953 and moved to Phoenix, AZ soon after where she later met and married her beloved husband, Donald D. Swanson. Their union was blessed by their daughter, Jennifer. Phyllis was employed by Arizona Farmers Production Credit Association for many years. After retirement Phyllis and Don enjoyed many years RVing around the country, later settling near their daughter in Alabama. Phyllis was a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster, AL. Phyllis enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time in her porch swing feeding the birds, and spending time with her family. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Don, her father John, her mother Katherine, and her sisters Kathleen and Mariana. Phyllis leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Jennifer (Michael) Wilson, step-son Jay Swanson, grandchildren DJ (Karoline) Traynor, Skyler (Blanca) Swanson, Shantay (Abe) Sellards, Weston (Janae) Swanson, Ashton Swanson, Sunni (Ty) Dale, Chase Swanson, numerous great-grandchildren, her sister Judy Rudel, and her brother Don (Nancy) Williams. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124, with service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Alabama National Cemetery at a later date.
