Preston Reagan Brown, 18, of Chelsea, Alabama passed away September 9, 2020. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on March 29, 2002.

Preston graduated from high school at Valleydale Christian Academy but spent the majority of his life growing up in the Chelsea school system. He often talked about a career as a millwright or working in construction. He enjoyed creating things with his hands.

Preston had a huge, tender heart, loved animals, and had a special way to connect with children. He was a natural athlete, could place a quarter in a machine to get a stuffed animal, and would produce one every time. He was a beautiful young soul who loved his family.

He is survived by his mother and bonus-dad, Sharon and Scott Gilbert; his dad, David Brown; his twin brother, Parker Brown; his older siblings, Matthew Brown, Makayla Gilbert, and Kylie Gilbert; and grandparents, Bill and Annette Berry, Leslie and Vicki Brown, Nancy Hoffman, Dennis and Doris Gilbert, and Hilliard and Pam Morgan. Preston was loved by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends also.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, immediately followed by A Service of Remembrance for Preston Brown at 2 p.m. at the funeral home's chapel. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.

Sharon and I have been bestfriends for 25 years. I have watched her children grow up. I remember the day Preston was brought into this world. It was a beautiful Easter weekend. Both twins captured my heart and soul from day one. So, now to Preston. He lit any room he entered, because he brought sunshine with him. When Preston walked in my home or saw me, I knew I was going to get a hug that I could feel love coming from it.
He was my clown,
Preston Brown. He kept me wrapped around his finger.
I loved him before he was born and I will continue to love him until we meet again. There will never be another one like him. Because, Preston Brown you will always be MY CLOWN. I can't wait to see you smile and hear you laugh when I dance with you while singing YOUR song the next time we meet. I love you, you're already missed.
PS: Don't be sneaking any sweets to hide.

Me and Preston were roommates in the hospital. As soon as he arrived we had a special bond. He taught me things and gave me advice like a big brother. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for him. I’ll always remember making him tell me stories at night, even when he was exhausted and wanted to sleep, but he never refused. I’m sorry I never got to say goodbye. The last time I saw you were with your family. You picked me up in the biggest hug ever. That was the best feeling in the world. I will never forget my friend, brother, and roommate Prego ❤️

I didn’t get to spend long with him... I didn’t have even have enough time to meet his other friends. All I know is he helped me through some of the worst times I had been through. He was like a brother to many. Your memory will live forever through the hearts you touched.

Preston was a great guy and a terrific friend. He was always checking up on everyone and could light up the room with his smile. He will be missed dearly by many. He was a kind soul and touched so many people around him with his bright spirit.
