Rhona Lee Baginski

She was preceded in death by her father, James E. Thomas, and brother, Marion Keith Thomas. She is survived by her husband Toby Baginski; her children Christopher Yarbrough (Laura) and Justin Yarbrough (Carina); step-children Corey Baginski (Randy), Darren Baginski (Susan), Aubrey Baginski (Sam) and Brandon Baginski; mother Bobbie Thomas; siblings Renona Stine (Steve), Jimmy Thomas, Quana Beavers, Sparky Thomas (Malorie), Marla Shropshire, and Marcus Thomas, and five grandchildren Alisha Baginski, Ryn Baginski, Benjamin Yarbrough, Kirin Baginski, and Jacob Yarbrough.

Rhona was born on August 22, 1960 in Birmingham, AL to James and Bobbie Thomas. She was married to Kenneth “Toby” Baginski for 28+ years. She received her Marketing degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and spent 30+ years with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama before retiring in 2019.

Rhona had a passion for traveling, reading, shoes, holidays and her family. She especially loved her role as Gigi and spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren. She was loved by many and known for her generosity and thoughtfulness.

A celebration of life service will be held at Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Vestavia Hills, AL on Saturday, March 14th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Down Syndrome Congress in honor of her grandson, Benjamin Yarbrough.
