

Richard Allen Autry age 56 of Chelsea, Alabama passed away on November 29, 2012. Rick is survived by his wife Mary Ella Autry, father Marvin Glen Autry, Sr., and mother Patsy Marlene Autry, brothers Marvin Glen Autry, Jr. and Phillip Wayne Autry,along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. “Rick” was welcomed into heaven into the presence of our Lord by his sister Vicki Lynn Johnson.
He was a faithful and loyal husband. Rick and Mary enjoyed a strong and loving marriage for 32 years.
As Senior Vice President for Primerica Financial Services, he touched many lives during his 30 year career as a financial planner helping numerous clients, friends and relatives establish solid financial foundations with their investments and insurance. He was known by family, friends and clients to be a loving, generous, loyal and kind hearted person.
Some of Rick’s passions included football, aviation, mentoring others, helping children and his pets.
His passion for football, especially Auburn football,started early with Pee Wee football progressing all the way to a winning championship season his senior year at Chelsea High School and then on to Auburn University, his time playing on the Plains at Auburn was cut short due to injuries, a result of which he carried the rest of his life.
Rick enjoyed the exhilaration and freedom of flying, owning and operating several aircraft.He continued a family tradition in aviation inspired by his father along with his two brothers as licensed pilots.
He was blessed with natural leadership skills and enjoyed mentoring and motivating others in their business and personal life to reach their fullest potential.
In earlier years Rick was involved with Big Brothers where he invested time into discipling and mentoring a number of youngmen who were fatherless.He was always the biggest kid at Christmas taking delight in seeing the faces of all of his nieces and nephews faces light up around the family Christmastree.
Rick is leaving us way too early and will be sorely missed!
Visitation will be held on Sunday December 2 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home at 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham with funeral services held on Monday December 3 at 2:00 PM, burial to follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery
