Richard Colin King

Rick earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in 1970 and his Juris Doctorate Degree from Birmingham School of Law in 1986. His professional career spanned 35 years with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, retiring in 2009 as Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Compliance. He will be remembered for his generous, selfless contributions to the lives of his family members, work associates, and many friends.

In his leisure, Rick enjoyed traveling with his fiance, Carole Lane; spending time with family and friends; supporting Alabama Crimson Tide Football; and enjoying his home on Lake Martin.

In addition to his fiance Carole, survivors include Rick's daughter, Brittany Long, married to Brian Long; one granddaughter, Reagan Long; and one grandson, Colin Long.

A celebration of Rick King's life will begin at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023 at the chapel at the Church of the Highlands, Grants Mill Campus, in Irondale, Alabama. All family, business associates, and friends are invited.
