Ricky was a 1978 graduate of Cooper High School in Abilene. He moved to the Birmingham, Alabama area in 1990 and resided there until his death.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Debra Rankin, and his mother, Janice Hargrove. He is survived by his sisters, Peggy Rice and Cherri McCollough; his father, Wanell Rankin; and his children, Kimberly and Matthew Rankin.
Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2024 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Montevallo, Alabama from 10-11 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the church. A private graveside service for family will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama.
