

Robert Paul Arnold, known to family and friends as Bob, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on January 27, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was defined by love, hard work, and unwavering commitment to those he cherished.
Bob was born in Augusta, KY, on April 30, 2026. He graduated from Flemingsburg County High School in 1953 and went on to earn his degree from the University of Kentucky in 1957. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Army in June of 1957. Bob proudly served his country while stationed in Fürth, Germany, for 18 months before being honorably discharged in May of 1959.
Following his military service, Bob began his long and successful career with the Monsanto Company as an Agricultural Chemical Salesman. His training first took him to St. Louis, after which he moved to Atlanta, GA. In January 1961, he transferred to Huntsville, AL, a move that would change his life forever.
It was in Huntsville that Bob met the love of his life, Brenda Joan Reed, on Friday the 13th in 1963. The two were married on November 21, 1964, at Mayfair Church of Christ. They built a beautiful life together and were blessed with two sons: Robert Paul Arnold II, born July 15, 1966, Jason Reade Arnold, born August 26, 1970.
Bob retired from Monsanto on September 1, 1993, though he continued part‑time consulting and market research work for the company until 2003.
In 2004, Bob and Joan moved to Helena, AL, where they became faithful members of the Hoover Church of Christ. In November 2025, they joyfully celebrated 61 years of marriage, a milestone reflecting a lifetime of love and partnership.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Arnold; his sons, Paul and Jason; his grandchildren, Langston Arnold and Emma Arnold; and his brother, Jim Arnold of Lexington, KY.
He was preceded in death by his father Ivan Arnold, mother Freda Arnold, brother Bill Arnold, and sister Betty Jamm.
A visitation will be held on January 31, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the Hoover Church of Christ, located at 3248 Lorna Rd, Hoover, AL, 35216, US.
The funeral service will follow at the same location from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
A committal service will take place on January 31, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm at Southern Heritage Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 475 Cahaba Valley Rd, Pelham, AL, 35124, US.
