Robert Dale Hand

Robert Dale "Bob" Hand, born March 14, 1943 in Fairfield, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, July 18, 2023. Preceding Bob in death were his parents, Robert Lawson Hand and Harriett Irene Hand, and Bob's brother, Charles Davis Hand.

Bob was married to Mary Jo Hand for 54 years, and they have one son, Robert Tyler Hand (Kelli), and two grandchildren, Robert Collin Hand and Mattie Elizabeth Hand of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Bob graduated from Fairfield High School and Samford University. He was employed for over 40 years in the group life insurance industry in the Birmingham, Alabama area. His frequent business trips throughout Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi helped him to build strong work relationships and friendships with co-workers and clients. He was a long-time member of the Health & Life Underwriters Association and the Insurance Marketing Association.

Bob's favorite leisure activities involved his grandchildren. He taught them to fish and to create all kinds of art projects. He belonged to Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham for 24 years, and was a member of the Abundant Life Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 9-10 a.m., immediately followed by the 10 a.m. graveside service at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. Phil Reddick will officiate.
