The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama.
Scott wishes to spend eternity in the great outdoors, so his ashes will be spread at Blue Buck Lake, which he developed at White Oak Valley Plantation. He spent many happy days fishing with family and friends there.
Scott was born in Panama City, Florida on August 9, 1947 to William M. and Betty F. Parker. He graduated from Bay High School in 1965, and then began his career in law enforcement for the Panama City Beach Police Department and the Bay County Sheriff’s Department. He continued his career as a legal investigator for the Florida State Attorneys Office before starting his own investigation agency where he continued working for numerous law firms throughout the Southeast until the day he passed.
Scott also had a passion for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. After moving to Alabama, he worked to develop first class hunting and fishing properties from raw land. His most recent project was White Oak Valley Plantation in Jamison, Alabama. He spent the last 20 years of his life turning this Chilton County land into the largest Whitetail Preserve in Alabama, including one of the top private bass lakes in the Southeast.
Scott was married to Valerie Anderson Parker on October 10, 1982. They were married 38 years. In addition to Valerie, he is survived by one daughter, Cathy Parker McDaniel and her husband David of Birmingham, Alabama; one son, Tommy F. Parker and his wife Casey of Sherman, Texas; grandchildren, Peyton and Parker McDaniel of Birmingham; brother, S. Tom Parker of Panama City; sister, Kay Parker Brackett of Panama City; aunt, Doris F. White of Cullman, Alabama; and other family and friends.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents, William M. Parker of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Betty F. Parker of Panama City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
The family of Scott Parker wishes to thank the dedicated medical staff at Grandview Hospital in Birmingham for their excellent and compassionate care.
