Robert (Bob) was born in Nashville, Tennessee on December 4, 1940 to Robert H. Steber, Sr. and Ruth Neville Steber. His brother, William N. Steber, is also deceased.
Bob graduated from Done!son High School and attended Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tennessee where he obtained a degree in Business Management. He served in the U. S. Army for five plus years. His first assignment was in Heidelberg, Germany for three years and then was stationed in Vietnam for two tours as a Captain. Upon leaving the service he worked for the Arrow Shirt Company as a sales representative until his retirement approximately twenty years ago.
Over the years, Bob enjoyed many hobbies, including flying, scuba diving, hunting, fishing, skeet shooting and motorcycling. His passion was riding motorcycles and spending time with his friends camping and riding twisty roads. He was riding his favorite motorcycle, a BMW R100GS when the accident occurred that took his life.
He was a member of the BMW Motorcycle Club of Alabama and the Mercedes Club.
A visitation will be held @Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on July 9, 2020 @ 11:00A.M. to 12:00 P.M., service to follow in the chapel. A graveside ceremony immediately follow at the Veterans Cemetery in Montevallo, AL. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Freewill Baptist Childrens' Home of Alabama, 86 Academy Drive, Eldridge, Alabama, 35554, or your favorite charity.
