Beloved husband, father, and granddaddy. Robert L. Vaughn passed away on Saturday, December 26th. Robert was a deacon with First Baptist Alabaster for more than 40 years. As a volunteer in the nursery, being around and nurturing small children was one of his greatest joys. The children all knew and were happy to see Mr. Robert. He was self-employed for many years as a longhaul trucking agent. He is survived by his devoted wife Reba E. Vaughn; sons, Jeff S. (Rachael) of Marion, AR and Phillip D. (Valorie) of Alabaster, AL; sister, Gracia V. Barton of Pensacola, FL; granddaughters, Jayme Robinson, Bailey Vaughn, Anna Vaughn, and Laura Vaughn; grandson, James Adland; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his precious daughter, Tracey L. Robinson; parents, Ralph L. and Amy I. Vaughn; and brother, Grady G. Vaughn. The funeral service will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday the 30th at 2pm with visitation starting one hour prior.
