Ron was a graduate of Hatley High School in Amory, Mississippi. For several years, he was employed as a delivery driver for United Parcel Service (UPS). In his leisure, he enjoyed spending time with family, running, and fishing.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Wiechman and Clara Maude Wiechman. He is survived by his wife, the former Terry Ann Hooten, to whom he was married on February 15, 1973; children, Debbie Wiechman (Sherry), Perry Skelton (Emily), Patrick Skelton, and Holly Rodgers (Brian); grandchildren, Chloe Weimer (Eric), Clara Skelton, Collier Skelton, Gus Skelton, Ruby Skelton, Jack Rodgers, Maggie Rodgers, and Laura Rodgers; and one sister, Linda Steele.
Visitation will be at Moat Chapel on the Homewood campus of Trinity United Methodist Church on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., immediately followed by A Service of Thanks to God for Ron's Life at 10 a.m. at Moat Chapel, 1400 Oxmoor Road, Birmingham, AL 35209. Pastor Andy Wolfe will officiate. The private gravesite committal and burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama.
