Sandra Elizabeth Fleming Miller, 82, of Hoover, Alabama, passed away on October 21, 2026. She was born in Hueytown, Alabama on March 9, 1944. She graduated from Hueytown High School and the University of Montevallo. She touched many lives as a teacher at First Baptist Church School in Pleasant Grove and went on to work and later retire from the Education Department at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Cedric Fleming and Irah McClinton Fleming; her husband, Larry James Miller; and her son, Carl Jerome Miller.
She is survived by her son, Jason Neil Miller, and his wife, Mindy; her grandson, Carson Neil Miller; and her future granddaughter-in-law, Hannah Marler. She also leaves behind her favorite Oklahoma cousins, who held a special place in her heart.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 10:30 - 11:30 A.M. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham.
A graveside service and burial will follow at 12:30 at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama
