Sarah Jane Reid

REID, SARAH JANE GARY, age 71, of Alabaster, Alabama went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family and friends on Friday night, January 18, 2013. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her. Sarah was born to Everett and Hilda Gary on January 7, 1942 in Birmingham, Alabama and was a 1960 graduate of Jones Valley High School. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her wonderful, loving husband of 52 years, Harold Reid; three children, Gregory Allen Reid (Sandra) of Alabaster, Catherine Deann Reid Seckinger (David) of Marietta, Georgia, and Randall Lee Reid (Terry) of Pinson, Alabama; grandchildren, Erica Barragan (Antonio), Ashley Reid, Ian Reid, Evan Reid, Audrey Reid, Adam Reid, and Noah Reid, all of Alabaster, and Shelby and Bailey Reid of Pinson; great-grandson, Elijah Barragan of Alabaster; great-granddaughter, Juliett Barragan of Alabaster; brother, Ernest Gary (Diana) of New Carlisle, Ohio; and sister, Betty Hornbuckle of Remlap, Alabama. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. funeral mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Montevallo, Alabama. Everyone is invited to return to the church for a reception immediately following the committal service at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham, Alabama.
